Organize information and propaganda activities in response to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week and World Oceans Day

Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism received Official Dispatch No. 1466/BNNMT-TTTT dated April 24, 2025 from the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment on organizing activities of Vietnam Sea and Islands Week and responding to World Oceans Day 2025.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests agencies and units to organize information and propaganda on publications and electronic news sites, specifically as follows:

World Oceans Day Theme (June 8): Wonder: Sustaining What Sustains Us.

Theme of Vietnam Sea and Islands Week (June 1 - 8): "Green technology for sustainable ocean".

Vietnam Sea and Islands Week 2024: Managing and sustainably using marine space

Accordingly, continue to propagate the important orientations and contents identified in Resolution 36-NQ/TW dated October 22, 2018 of the Central Executive Committee on the Strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, with a vision to 2045, Resolution 139/2024/QH15 dated June 28, 2024 of the National Assembly on the National Marine Spatial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; focus on propagating the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, the State's policies and laws, international laws on seas and islands; Vietnam's legitimate and legal rights and interests at sea; the position, role and importance of seas, islands and oceans; the role of the marine economy in realizing the growth targets of sectors, fields and localities, contributing to the overall growth target of the whole country...

Communication on the theme and key messages of Vietnam Sea and Islands Week associated with World Oceans Day 2025, focusing on the following contents: introducing advanced models and typical examples in protecting marine resources and environment; models of classifying domestic solid waste at source in islands and coastal areas; control, monitoring and treatment of plastic waste and solid waste in coastal and island areas; promoting circular economic models in coastal communities; conserving biodiversity and restoring marine ecosystems; preserving and promoting the values of marine cultural heritage...

The communication messages focus on the following topics: Miraculous ocean: Preserving the source of life for humanity; Green technology for a sustainable ocean; Marine space planning for rapid and sustainable development of the marine economy; Acting together for a green - clean - beautiful Vietnamese sea and islands; Protecting the sea and islands today - Steady tomorrow; Innovation for the blue ocean - Joining hands to act today; Ocean without plastic waste - Life without worries; Ocean - Connecting life, spreading the future; Vietnam's sea and islands - A place where intelligence, technology and aspiration converge.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requests agencies and units to organize implementation and report results to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (through the Department of Science, Technology, Training and Environment) before July 5, 2025./.
