The training program is jointly organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Education and Training of Binh Dinh. Thereby, it continues to equip and improve the techniques of standardized lessons for physical education teachers of primary, secondary and high schools in the 2025-2026 school year.
Nearly 1,000 teachers from primary, secondary, high schools and affiliated schools in Binh Dinh province participated in training in Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts.
Accordingly, in 4 days (from May 27 to 30), teachers will practice 3 basic exercises and 3 advanced traditional martial arts exercises including: Than Dong exercise, Ngoc Tran Quyen and Lao Mai Quyen.
Previously, on March 31, 2025, with the approval of the Prime Minister , the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism successfully sent the dossier of Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts to the UNISCO Office in Paris (France).
Speaking at the opening of the training course, Mr. Bui Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh, said that in order to improve the collection, preservation and promotion of the value of Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts heritage, in recent times, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has effectively implemented many programs, projects and topics, including the program to bring Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts into schools.
This program has strongly stimulated the movement of practicing traditional martial arts among students, contributing greatly to the conservation work and especially contributing to the process of building a scientific dossier of Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts Heritage submitted to UNISCO in recent times.
Mr. Bui Trung Hieu emphasized that bringing Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts into schools has profound significance in terms of culture, education, health and national spirit.
In addition to creating a healthy playground, improving physical fitness, educating morality, personality, discipline, and preventing school evils, students also find pride in a heritage that their predecessors have worked hard to build and develop.
At the same time, it educates the young generation about the tradition of patriotism and martial spirit, and together they strive to practice and contribute to the cause of building and defending the country.
As the first locality to implement a program to introduce traditional martial arts into teaching at schools, the leader of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh cited that with the right orientation, we have achieved many remarkable results.
Notably, from 2018 to present, Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts team has always been leading in the National Traditional Martial Arts Championships and national student competitions.
Notably, at the 2024 National Phu Dong Sports Festival, Binh Dinh Student Sports Delegation won 8 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 7 bronze medals, affirming the overall first place in the tournament.
Over hundreds of years, Binh Dinh Traditional Martial Arts has continuously blended, crystallized and selected the quintessence of martial arts schools and has become a unique value system of a land, a cultural element imbued with identity, rooted and deeply ingrained in the spiritual life of Binh Dinh people.
In order to promote the conservation, promotion and strong dissemination of the heritage values of Binh Dinh traditional martial arts, Mr. Bui Trung Hieu also shared that the province and the Central Ministries and branches always pay attention to proposing many policies and creating all favorable conditions to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Binh Dinh traditional martial arts.
