This is the quality successor team for Vietnam's top sports, contributing to concretizing the achievement goals at the continental and world arenas such as ASIAD and Olympics in the coming period. It is expected that the group of sports in which Vietnam will send athletes to compete will mainly focus on the group of sports in the Olympics and Asiad.

Listening to the report and discussing thoroughly the selection of athletes and performance targets in each sport expected to participate in this Congress, Deputy Director Nguyen Hong Minh affirmed: The Asian Youth Games is a major sporting event, very important, very meaningful for the development of high-performance sports in the country in the coming years. Because the athletes selected to compete are all young talented athletes. The Congress is both an opportunity to exchange and learn and an arena to affirm the level and position of Vietnamese sports.
If athletes achieve high results, specifically valuable medals, it will open up many opportunities and very good development directions for Vietnam's high-performance sports in the coming years. With that importance and significance, Deputy Director Nguyen Hong Minh suggested: The High-Performance Sports Department together with the sports expected to participate in the Games urgently review, conduct screening, and select the right and talented athletes, giving priority to sports with high potential to compete for medals, with good development potential, from there, have a specific plan for treatment in training, coaching, nutrition...
However, the identification and selection of athletes to invest in and enjoy the high benefits that have been issued must comply with regulations, avoid waste and dispersion; the sending of delegations must ensure efficiency and effectiveness. The Deputy Director further emphasized.
