On March 8, the leaders of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province welcomed the Thang Long super speedboat from Hai Phong city to Cau Da wharf, Vung Tau city. This is a super speedboat carrying passengers on the Vung Tau - Con Dao route.
The ship is over 77m long, over 9.5m wide, 4 floors high, and can accommodate 1,017 passengers. It is the largest high-speed ship in Vietnam.

Mr. Vu Van Khuong, General Director of Phu Quoc Express Boat Joint Stock Company, the investor, said that the ship was designed and built by 189 LLC ( Ministry of National Defense ) in Hai Phong. All equipment was imported from the most advanced countries and was certified by foreign inspection organizations and approved by Vietnam's inspection agency before installation.
According to the investor, the Thang Long ship has 3 main engines, with a capacity of nearly 12,000 horsepower, and a maximum speed of up to 35 nautical miles/hour. At this speed, the time for passengers to travel to Con Dao and back is just over 3 hours.

Every week, the boat departs from Cau Da Wharf (Vung Tau City) at 7:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. In the opposite direction, the boat departs at 1 p.m. from Con Dao Passenger Port on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
