After being eliminated in the second round of the 2023 Australian Open on January 19, Nadal has not played any more tournaments. However, after recovering from injury, the Spanish star is aiming for two Grand Slams in 2024: the Australian Open and Roland Garros.

Nadal also confirmed his return to professional tennis and the "King of Clay" will start from the ATP 250 Brisbane International in Australia, taking place from December 31 to January 7.
In Nadal's year away, Novak Djokovic has won three more Grand Slams. Young stars like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are improving rapidly and Nadal is expected to have a tough time winning titles.
However, former Italian tennis player Paolo Bertolucci highly appreciated Nadal's class: "Nadal has valued tennis since he was a child, it is his lifelong passion. We have never seen such a great player on clay, Nadal is the king of this court.
Many people are curious and questioning his comeback. I think he is trying to go further than he is now. Nadal has a specific roadmap to step into the clay season. Nadal will definitely not miss Roland Garros.
The Spaniard is hungry to beat the big boys. A player like Nadal does not come back just to prepare for the end of his career. Now is not the time for Rafael Nadal to say goodbye to his fans."
