Despite being investigated, all four players were not suspended for the match against Arsenal. Rudiger and Mbappe received a one-match ban but were given a suspended sentence, along with fines of €40,000 and €30,000 respectively. Dani Ceballos was only fined €20,000, while Vinicius Junior was completely acquitted.
Rudiger is accused of raising his hand to his neck towards Atletico fans after the dramatic penalty shootout in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 on March 13. Mbappe and Ceballos are accused of "violating ethical standards".
With UEFA's lenient decision, coach Carlo Ancelotti will have all his stars available for the big battle at Emirates. However, another concern weighing on Real Madrid is the position of their number one goalkeeper.
Thibaut Courtois is not fully recovered from injury, having missed three of the last five matches. His replacement, Andriy Lunin, also has a minor injury and his participation is uncertain. If both are unavailable, 19-year-old goalkeeper Fran Gonzalez will have the opportunity to start.
Nevertheless, coach Ancelotti remains optimistic: "Courtois is recovering well, and we believe he can be fit for the match against Arsenal. Lunin is being closely monitored. If he can't, we still have complete faith in Fran. He's young, and everyone has a beginning. If it's his time, we'll be very happy."
On Arsenal's side, the Premier League representatives will be without their number one center-back Gabriel Magalhaes due to a hamstring problem, ruling him out for the rest of the season. The first leg of the Champions League quarter-final between Arsenal and Real Madrid takes place at 2 AM on April 9th. Coach Carlo Ancelotti's team will have the advantage of playing the second leg at their home stadium, Bernabeu.
Mbappe scores after a superb free-kick setup. In the early hours of March 30th, Mbappe scored in Real Madrid's 3-2 victory over Leganes in the 29th round of La Liga.
