GeForce RTX 5070: Late launch, modest power?
While NVIDIA is expected to launch its RTX 50-series cards next month, the RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti cards may not be available until Q1 next year. According to leaker @kopite7kimi, the RTX 5070 Ti will feature a GB203-300 GPU with 8,960 CUDA cores, 16GB of GDDR7 memory, and a 300W TDP. The card's performance is said to be on par with the current RTX 4080.
Meanwhile, the RTX 5070 will use the GB205-300 GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores, 12GB of memory, and a power consumption of 250W. It is worth noting that the RTX 5070's specifications are quite similar to its predecessor, the RTX 4070 Ti, indicating a negligible upgrade from NVIDIA.
The RTX 4070 and 4070 Ti have previously been criticized for their underperformance and price. This leak has many gamers worried that history will repeat itself with the RTX 5070.
The RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti are expected to hit shelves after the RTX 5080 and 5090, which would mean around the second quarter of next year. However, this is just a leak, and NVIDIA could completely change the specifications before launch.
