The Portuguese striker and a group of players currently playing in the Saudi Pro League were present at the White House as part of the Saudi Arabian delegation, on the occasion of Mr. Trump receiving Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Before that, in his welcoming speech, Mr. Trump praised CR7 in front of a large crowd of guests: "You know, my son is a big fan of Cristiano Ronaldo. Today we have Ronaldo here!"
Not long after, the official White House account posted a video of Mr. Trump and Ronaldo chatting happily, with the caption: “Two GOATS” (two best characters of all time).
The clip quickly went viral on social media, and Ronaldo also shared it on his personal Instagram page with more than half a billion followers.
CR7 then posted another photo with his fiancée Georgina Rodriguez in the Presidential Suite, along with the caption: “Thank you, Mr. President, for the invitation and the warm welcome you and your wife have given me and my future wife. Each of us is born to contribute. I am always ready to do my part to inspire the younger generations to build a future based on courage, responsibility and lasting peace .”
After returning to Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo and his teammates will prepare for the match against Al Khaleej on November 24.
