On April 30th, Al Nassr suffered a 2-3 defeat against Kawasaki Frontale in the AFC Champions League semi-finals, thus being eliminated from the tournament. In this match, Ronaldo neither scored nor assisted. He played poorly and was constantly marked by the Kawasaki Frontale players.
