Cristiano Ronaldo's future has once again become the focus of global attention as the Portuguese superstar has posted a cryptic message on social media: "This chapter is over, but the story is still being written. Thank you all."

The status line has fans speculating that Ronaldo is about to leave Al-Nassr after two seasons. According to Marca, Al-Nassr will soon hold an official press conference to confirm this information.

Ronaldo's contract with Al-Nassr will expire on June 30. The source said that the 40-year-old striker has rejected a contract extension with a huge salary of up to 167 million pounds/year.

Joining the Saudi Arabian team in early 2023, Ronaldo made his mark with 99 goals, but has yet to win any major titles with the club. The only trophy he won, the Arab Club Champions Cup, was considered to lack prestige and professional value.

In the context of saying goodbye to their number one superstar, Al-Nassr is said to be planning to recruit Luis Diaz, a winger currently playing for Liverpool. The Colombian star is one of the outstanding factors that helped the "Red Brigade" win the Premier League in the 2024/25 season. Diaz still has a contract with Liverpool until 2027.

For his part, Ronaldo has yet to make a final decision on his next destination. Rumors have it that he could join Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr's rivals, especially since the team will be participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The latest statement from FIFA President Gianni Infantino makes this possibility more likely: "Ronaldo could play for one of the teams in the FIFA Club World Cup. Discussions are still ongoing."

In addition, Botafogo Club (Brazil) has also unexpectedly joined the race to find Ronaldo's signature. Coach Renato Paiva did not hide his excitement when asked about the possibility of recruiting the Portuguese star: "Who would refuse a player like him? Ronaldo, despite his age, is still a real goal-scoring machine."

With the ambition to reach the milestone of 1,000 career goals (currently 936 goals), Ronaldo is expected to continue playing for another 2-3 seasons. Other potential destinations include MLS (USA), the Turkish Super League, Sporting Lisbon - where he started his career, or staying in Saudi Arabia with another club.
