This is also the fourth year that Mong Cai city has organized the Border Sim Flower Festival. Accordingly, the Festival takes place over two days, May 17 and 18, with many unique and attractive cultural, artistic, sports and tourism activities, imbued with the traditional ethnic culture of the ethnic community of Hai Son commune.
In particular, the "Half Marathon 2025" race has attracted thousands of professional and amateur athletes nationwide to participate in the brilliant purple color of sim flowers on the country's border.

Within the framework of the festival, there are sports competitions and folk games such as: men's and women's football tournaments; top spinning, throwing con, monkey bridge, blindfolded duck catching, pot smashing, grass raking (grave raking), Dao and San Chi ethnic bridal makeup contest; pounding rice cakes; folk dance exchanges with other communes and wards.
In addition, people and tourists have many interesting experiences when visiting and experiencing some attractive places such as: Po Hen National Historical Site, milestone 1347, Po Hen market, Dang family mural village; Ma Thau Son sim hill, 26 households hamlet, Pa Nai peak, poetic Trang Vinh lake.

Hai Son is a mountainous, border, ethnic minority commune, 34km northwest of Mong Cai city center, with many advantages in terms of climate, natural landscape, scenic spots, historical relics, and diversity in ethnic cultural identities, rich in local traditional products and especially with National Highway 18C passing through the area.
This is the potential and advantage for Hai Son to connect with regions in the province to develop economy and experiential tourism.

Through the activities at the festival, the aim is to preserve, promote, honor, introduce, advertise the images, potential advantages and exploit the traditional and unique cultural values of the ethnic groups in Mong Cai city in general and Hai Son commune in particular; contributing to attracting tourists to visit, experience, and increase income for the people.
