On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, VN-Index only showed a glimmer of green for a few minutes, the rest of the time the market showed red with the decline getting stronger towards the end of the session.
Closing, VN-Index stopped at 1,310.57 points, down 19.32 points (-1.45%); VN30-Index was at 1,396.56 points after falling 22.41 points (-1.58%).

Red dominated the electronic trading board with 241 stocks decreasing in price and only 84 stocks increasing in price. In the VN30 group, the number of stocks decreasing in price was nearly 3 times higher than the number of stocks increasing in price (19 stocks and 7 stocks).
Pillar stocks are weak today. Of the 10 largest capitalization stocks, only 3 are green but the increase is not strong, 2 stocks are flat, the rest are down.
Of the 5 stocks that decreased in price, it is noteworthy that the 2nd and 3rd largest stocks in the market, VIC and VHM, both hit the floor, taking away the most points from the VN-Index. Of which, VIC took 5.7 points, VHM took nearly 4.8 points. Thus, these 2 stocks alone took away more than half of the total market points decreased in today's session.
Most industries went down; in which real estate, consumer goods and decoration, telecommunications, and hardware decreased the most.
Going against the market are semiconductors, home and personal appliances, software, durable goods distribution and retail, and consumer services.
Liquidity is low. Nearly VND18,000 billion was transferred on the entire floor. This is understandable because after the market failed to surpass the peak in previous sessions, investors were hesitant to disburse.
Foreign investors were net sellers. This group bought more than 1,626 billion VND and sold 1,964 billion VND.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the total transaction value reached over VND1,500 billion. At the close of the session, the HNX-Index stopped at 226.49 points, down 2.12 points (-0.93%); the HNX30-Index fell 5.16 points (-1.09%), to 466.15 points.
