- Vietnam GrandSale 2025 is held in the context of many fluctuations in the domestic and international economy . So what is the significance of this year's program, sir?
- Implementing Resolution No. 25/NQ-CP dated February 5, 2025 of the Government on ensuring the national GDP growth target in 2025 reaches 8% or more, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued Decision No. 1635/QD-XTTM on officially implementing the Vietnam GrandSale 2025 Program.
The program is chaired by the Department of Trade Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade), acting as the focal point for coordination with relevant units in the Ministry; Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and centrally-run cities; industry associations and the business community to implement communication activities, guide and support businesses nationwide to implement large-scale promotional programs.
- Can you tell us the most outstanding new features of Vietnam GrandSale 2025?
- The special feature of Vietnam GrandSale 2025 is its openness and unlimited nature. All businesses nationwide are free to participate, without going through any registration and selection rounds. Businesses have full autonomy to implement promotional programs with attractive, creative content, aimed at customers and consumers. Discounts and incentives can be up to 100% of the value of goods and services, according to the decision of each business.
In addition, participating businesses are also responsible for ensuring that promotions take place legally, honestly, publicly and transparently; ensuring the legitimate rights of consumers, the quality of goods and services, and fully complying with current administrative procedure regulations.
- What do the program organizers expect when implementing it on a national scale, sir?
- With the effect of connecting supply and demand spreading strongly and widely across the country through traditional trade activities, e-commerce, implementing digital transformation in business, promoting cashless payments, localities, organizations and businesses will proactively coordinate to implement promotional activities combined with fairs, exhibitions, events... in the locality. These contents aim not only to promote domestic consumption but also contribute to attracting international tourists to Vietnam this summer.
Vietnam GrandSale 2025 is expected to continue the success of previous years, contributing significantly to the growth of retail sales of goods and social consumer services, making practical contributions to the implementation of the economic development goals set by the Government in 2025.

Protect consumer rights
- Recently, the situation of counterfeit goods and intellectual property violations has become complicated. Regarding this issue, what requirements does the Organizing Committee have for businesses participating in the program?
- In the organization plan, the Ministry of Industry and Trade assigned the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development to direct market management departments of provinces and cities to monitor promotional programs with signs of violations and illegal acts to conduct inspections and handle them according to regulations during the program.
At the same time, the Ministry assigned the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities to coordinate with relevant authorities to inspect and handle acts of trading in smuggled goods; production and trade of counterfeit goods, banned goods, goods of unknown origin; acts of infringement of intellectual property rights; acts of violating the law on quality, price, food safety; acts of violating the law on consumer rights protection and acts of commercial fraud according to the law and monitor promotional programs with signs of violations to handle them according to regulations.
The Department of Trade Promotion also requires businesses to strictly comply with the provisions of the law on promotion, take responsibility for the quality of promotional goods and services, and protect the legitimate rights of consumers. Any violations will be strictly handled according to the provisions of the law.
- How do you evaluate Hanoi's recent promotional activities in stimulating consumption, contributing to the growth of the capital and the whole country?
- As one of the economic "locomotives" of the whole country, the concentrated promotional activities organized by Hanoi city are large-scale, well-organized, bringing positive results, thereby contributing to the growth of the capital and the whole country.
Hanoi has combined a variety of promotional activities, both direct and online, such as fairs, shopping festivals, and time-based discounts. The events take place with many themes: "Promotional Festival", "Hanoi Never Sleeps at Night", "Vietnamese Goods Week", "Agricultural Products Week", OCOP Fair..., to support domestic promotion and consumption. The number of businesses and points of sale is large, about 1,000-2,000 businesses, with hundreds of promotional points each time. The program has created a positive effect, supporting the promotion of Vietnamese goods, stimulating shopping, and creating a shopping season for both residents and tourists.
The Trade Promotion Agency believes and highly appreciates the response of localities, especially Hanoi - the country's major economic, cultural and political center, which will contribute to spreading the program strongly and widely, creating the success of the program.
