Spring Colors of the Land of the "Golden Grail"

In the cold of the last days of the year, we returned to Kim Boi - Muong Dong. Road 12B leads to the district center surrounded by mountains, hills and fields covered in green crops. The cold air clearly smells of grapefruit and Buddha's hand. The newly sprouted peach blossoms are being prepared by the locals here to welcome Tet.

Our first stop was Xuan Thuy commune, in the bustling spring weather, we could clearly feel the steady change of this countryside. The car sped along the clean concrete road running among the endless green of the fruit trees. The sincere and cheerful smiles of the people made the spring picture even warmer.

Visiting the model garden of Mr. Bui Van Luc's family in Khoang hamlet. The green garden space with reasonable planning makes no one want to leave. "In 2020, when being selected as the first household in the commune to build a model garden, the family renovated the garden, rebuilt the fence, invested in an automatic irrigation system; researched and applied advanced science and technology to production, thereby bringing stable income, creating a green - clean - beautiful landscape" - Mr. Luc shared.

From Mr. Luc's family's model garden, many households in the area have come to visit, learn, and follow, contributing to spreading the scientific and effective farming model according to new rural criteria.

Among the 4 communes that have reached the NTM finish line in Kim Boi, Nam Thuong is the only locality striving to reach the advanced NTM standard by 2023. Coming to Nam Thuong today, not only is the traffic infrastructure system, schools, medical stations... spacious and up to standard, but the "core" is that the material and spiritual life of the people is increasingly improved. By the end of 2023, the commune will have an estimated per capita income of over 58 million VND.

As the area chosen to build a model new-style rural residential area, in recent times, Boi Ca hamlet, Nam Thuong commune has strived to compete with many effective solutions. "Thanks to the timely propaganda and guidance of the Party Committee and the government, people have raised their awareness and agreed to participate in building a model residential area. Not only volunteering to participate in the New-style Rural Saturday, people have also voluntarily renovated their houses, built green fences, developed the economy associated with building a "bright - green - clean - beautiful" model garden, contributing to making Boi Ca increasingly innovative" - Secretary of the hamlet Party cell Bui Van Hung said.

The changing appearance and vitality of Muong Dong today is the result of innovation in thinking, leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels with specific policies and guidelines suitable to local realities, promoting the strength of solidarity.

Although the district has a low starting point, the effective implementation of national target programs has contributed to the growth of Muong Dong. The district continues to maintain and develop quality products such as oranges, grapefruits, dragon fruits, and vegetables of all kinds meeting VietGAP standards with an area of over 310 hectares; concentrated production areas for growing squash and cucumbers in the communes of Nam Thuong, Kim Lap, Sao Bay, Du Sang... with an area of about 60 hectares/area... Maintain and develop production linkage models according to the value chain from input to consumption such as: AP1 green hemp planting model in association with Hoa Binh Agricultural Service Cooperative and An Phuoc Company with a total area of over 40 hectares in 2 communes of Tu Son and Xuan Thuy; growing baby melons in association with Hajmex Company, an area of 5 hectares in 2 communes of Hung Son and Kim Boi; Growing biomass corn on a scale of over 45 hectares in 6 communes: Cuoi Ha, Kim Boi, Dong Bac, Vinh Dong, Xuan Thuy, Sao Bay... The district has 30 effectively operating cooperatives; 15 OCop products are certified with 3-star standards. By the end of 2023, the whole district will achieve an average of 14 NTM criteria/commune.

New life continues to flourish on the spring vitality in the core area of Muong Dong. Determined to become the province's tourism development center, Kim Boi is "sprinting" to clear the land for two projects: the Hoa Binh - Hanoi regional connection road and the Son La (Hoa Binh - Moc Chau) expressway; the complex of high-class ecological urban areas, entertainment and the Cuoi Ha cable car system. With the expectation that the projects will effectively exploit the potential and advantages, opening up strong development opportunities for the "golden cup" land.

Thanks to the synchronous implementation of policies and effective promotion of internal resources, Muong Dong is flourishing and growing day by day. In the countryside, Spring is like a song that begins with many beliefs, aspirations, and contributions to build.
