Saigon Co.op opens retail outlets and convenience stores at metro stations

Within the framework of cooperation, Saigon Co.op and HURC focus on four key areas: Research and development of retail systems and convenience stores under the Co.op brand along the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro stations to serve passengers' fast and convenient shopping needs; jointly exploit cashless payment solutions, integrate metro cards into Saigon Co.op's payment system based on Saigon Co.op's information database; implement incentive and promotional programs exclusively for metro passengers when shopping at Saigon Co.op's 800 retail points; research and apply green economic solutions, circular economy, technology application, digital transformation in the management and operation of the metro system.

According to HURC, the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line will officially come into operation from December 2024, marking a turning point in the urban transport system of Ho Chi Minh City. With a length of 19.7 km and 14 stations, the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien metro line is an iconic project of modern infrastructure and an important foundation for tourism development, especially sustainable green tourism connecting a series of unique cultural, historical and entertainment destinations of the city.

According to Saigon Co.op, as a long-standing pure Vietnamese retail system with the largest market share in Vietnam and diverse models such as: Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Co.op Smile, Cheers, Finelife, Sense city, Sense market, in 2025, Saigon Co.op determined to strengthen its internal strength, promote traditional Vietnamese cultural values ​​that have been built throughout 35 years of formation and development. The city's leaders suggested that the two sides study the integration of metro cards with utilities so that city residents can shop for goods at the Saigon Co.op retail system conveniently and easily.
