Hoa Quy Ward Police (Ngu Hanh Son District) has stepped up advocacy and propaganda for people about the Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives and Supporting Tools, focusing on the contents of sanctions and dangers when storing and using... At the end of April 2025, the Ward Police received 1 pistol voluntarily handed over by Mr. H.D.L (born in 1986, Hoa Quy Ward) and 1 air gun voluntarily handed over by Mr. TVT (born in 1987, Hoa Quy Ward).

Mr. L. said that he discovered a black pistol with a magazine while he was constructing a house in Group 48. Mr. T. shared that at around 12:30 on April 25, on the way home in Group 46, passing through an area with no houses, he discovered a black bag shaped like a gun in a bamboo bush. Mr. T. opened it and found an air gun. In addition, the two citizens said that storing and using weapons is a dangerous act, so they voluntarily complied, handed it over and reported the incident to the police for verification and handling according to the provisions of the law.

On May 7, Hoa Nhon Commune Police (Hoa Vang District) received more than 400 bullets discovered and voluntarily handed over by local residents. Previously, during the course of work, Mr. D.HM discovered two iron boxes, suspected to be old bullet boxes. He quickly reported to the authorities. Upon inspection, the police determined that inside the two iron boxes were four belts of bullets, a total of more than 400 bullets of unknown type. Hoa Nhon Commune Police made a record of receipt and coordinated with relevant agencies to handle the above bullets according to the law.

Previously, on April 3, Thanh Binh Ward Police (Hai Chau District) received an AK gun voluntarily surrendered by Mr. NDA (Thanh Binh Ward). On April 2, Mr. TMP (An Hai Nam Ward, Son Tra District) came to report and handed over 1 long gun, 2 short guns, 103 bullets and 4 ammunition boxes... Every month, police units and localities collect a list of agencies, organizations and individuals who surrendered weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks to the Director of the City Police Department to receive a letter of commendation and organize an award ceremony.

From June 21, 2024 to present, there have been 40 cases receiving letters of commendation, of which 27 cases received letters of commendation from the Director of the City Police Department and 13 cases received letters of commendation from the heads of police units and localities. Notably, there were 2 citizens who handed over guns and ammunition as wartime souvenirs.

Letters of commendation are a special propaganda model, with great motivational value; in particular, the City Police is the first unit to develop, issue and apply the letter of commendation process in propaganda work, mobilizing the entire population to hand over and fight against crimes and violations of the law on weapons, explosives and supporting tools.

From the beginning of the year to April 30, the entire city mobilized the handover of 13 military guns, 13 homemade guns, 1,331 bullets, 29 grenades, mines, warheads, 3 detonators, 279 support tools, 996 primitive weapons, 110 weapon assembly components... 100% of ward and commune police reviewed, established reception points and notified agencies, organizations and people to contact for handover. Thereby, maintaining the operation of 217 reception points, collecting weapons, explosives, support tools and fireworks.

According to the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (City Police), in the coming time, the unit will continue to propagate, disseminate widely and seriously and effectively implement the Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives and Support Tools; strengthen forces, equip modern machinery and technical equipment of high technology, promptly meet the requirements of prevention and combat against violations of weapons, explosives and support tools from cyberspace...
