President Ho Chi Minh's mark and the vision of Vietnam-US partnership

The Ambassador affirmed that after the ups and downs of history, the Vietnam-US relationship today is a living testament to President Ho Chi Minh's timeless vision.

On the occasion of the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) and the successful organization of the Party Congress in the US, the Vietnamese Embassy in the US solemnly held an incense offering ceremony for President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Altar in the Vietnam House headquarters, a ceremony to celebrate and honor outstanding collectives and individuals in studying and following his ideology, morality and style.

Attending the ceremony on the afternoon of May 24 were Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vietnamese Ambassador to the United Nations Dang Hoang Giang, Vietnamese Consuls General in Houston and San Francisco, and officials and party members of Vietnamese agencies in the US.

The ceremony was also connected online with locations in New York, Houston, San Francisco and several other locations in the US.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung reviewed the highlights of the life and glorious career of President Ho Chi Minh - the great leader of the Vietnamese nation, the working class and people of Vietnam, an outstanding soldier of the workers' movement and the international communist movement, and a world cultural celebrity.

The Ambassador emphasized that Ho Chi Minh's ideology continues to shine through every development achievement of Vietnam, from the Doi Moi process, ensuring social security, developingeducation and health care, to the national defense policy, and the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace and friendship. His ideology has a special significance in the fight against individualism, corruption and waste - the great challenges in the country's internal development today.

According to the Ambassador, President Ho Chi Minh was the one who laid the first foundation for Vietnam-US relations in the 20th century. On his journey to find a way to save the country, the young man Nguyen Tat Thanh came to the US, lived and worked in New York and Boston. He observed American life with a dialectical eye: admiring the spirit of independence, respecting the US Declaration of Independence, but also strongly condemning social injustice, racial discrimination and class exploitation.

The Ambassador affirmed that after the ups and downs of history, the Vietnam-US relationship today is a vivid testament to President Ho Chi Minh's timeless vision that nations that were once rivals can still become partners if they know how to put the interests of the people above past disagreements. The establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries in 2023 is a historic milestone - not only the result of current diplomatic efforts, but also the realization of President Ho Chi Minh's wish.

At the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to the United Nations Dang Hoang Giang presented a report summarizing the implementation of Directive No. 05-CT/TW of the 13th Politburo on "Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle" by the Party Committee in the US.

According to the Ambassador, the propaganda and education work on traditions has been effectively implemented by Party committees at all levels through rich and diverse programs of activities, creating a positive ripple effect on Party members, cadres, and the active Vietnamese community in the area about the moral example, ideology, and style of Ho Chi Minh.

The delegates watched the documentary "Morality is the root and foundation of a revolutionary." The film deeply portrayed President Ho Chi Minh's viewpoint on the core role of morality in training cadres and party members. Thereby, helping each cadre and party member to be more aware of their responsibility in each behavior, action and consciousness of serving the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the Party Committee in the US commended and honored outstanding collectives and individuals in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, and awarded children of officials of representative agencies with outstanding achievements in studying and in propaganda activities, promoting the country and people of Vietnam to international friends./.
