Since the beginning of the year, Tien Sa port has welcomed many cruise ships, carrying tens of thousands of passengers to Da Nang , including many luxury ships. From May 2025 to the end of this year, many large cruise ships will arrive in Da Nang. Tien Sa port is estimated to welcome about 76 ships with more than 70,000 passengers, an increase of 64% compared to 2024. Statistics in recent years show that Da Nang port's output and revenue mainly focus on goods through Tien Sa port, while cruise ships only account for 0.65% of revenue and profit. In particular, currently at Tien Sa port, only 2/5 large berths can receive large cruise ships, limiting the number of ships and the time cruise ships stay at the port.

Mr. Lam Ny, in charge of cruise ship passenger exploitation, Saigontourist Travel Service Company - Da Nang Branch, acknowledged that cruise ship tourism in Da Nang has recorded impressive growth. However, to exploit the potential of sea tourism, including cruise ship tourists, the city needs to strengthen the infrastructure at Tien Sa port to serve cruise ship passengers; improve the capacity to receive the number of cruise ships docking at the port as well as increase the port docking time of cruise ships; build and develop Tien Sa port not only as a place to receive cruise ship passengers but also as a port of departure for cruise ship tourists; step up promotion in markets with a high number of cruise ship passengers.
