Since the beginning of May 2025, heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and tornadoes have affected more than 40 houses in the province. There are 310 locations at high risk of landslides and flash floods. The most affected are in the districts of Nguyen Binh with 108 locations, Bao Lam with 38 locations, Bao Lac with 28 locations...
According to the assessment, landslide risk areas are mainly in remote communes, with high mountainous terrain and a high poverty rate; due to lack of common land, many families have not been able to move out of landslide risk areas. In the districts, it is very difficult to move hundreds of households out of landslide and flash flood risk areas.
In order to minimize damage caused by heavy rain, floods, flash floods, and landslides, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee signed and issued Document No. 1459/UBND-KT dated May 20, 2025 requesting districts and cities to closely monitor weather developments, floods, landslides, and promptly provide warnings to authorities at all levels and people to proactively prevent. At the same time, direct units to deploy shock forces to prevent and combat natural disasters, organize inspections to detect signs of subsidence and landslides in residential areas; be on standby and ready to carry out timely rescue work and quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters caused by floods.
