Organized the media event "Reach out - Shine" at Hop Giang Secondary School (City).
The event "Reaching Out - Shining" was held with the participation of nearly 1,000 teachers and students from 6 secondary schools in the province, including: Hop Giang Secondary School (City); Huy Giap Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Bao Lac); Thanh Cong Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Nguyen Binh), Van Trinh Primary and Secondary School (Thach An); Duc Long Secondary School (Hoa An); Na Giang Secondary School (Ha Quang); of which, nearly 86% of the students are ethnic minorities.
The talk show "Reaching Out - Shining" with the participation of 2 typical ethnic minority female speakers, representing the image of women who dare to dream, dare to aspire, overcome prejudice barriers and persevere, steadfastly pursue their goals, to succeed and shine in their own way, is the young female director of the Tay ethnic group Ha Le Diem ( Bac Kan ), who won the "Best Director" award at the 2021 Amsterdam International Documentary Film Festival with the film "The Children in the Mist", which was in the top 15 Oscar nominations and Phung Mui Nhinh, a female Jujitsu athlete of the Dao ethnic group (Cao Bang), won the Gold Medal at the 2024 Asian Jujitsu Competition, the pride of the Vietnamese Jujitsu team in the international arena.
The poster drawing and presentation contest with the theme “Removing barriers - Reaching out to shine”, expressed the views of students from schools on the role and right to take control of their future, especially girls, through interdisciplinary activities combining fine arts, literature and creative experiences.
At the same time, the exhibition "My Dream" and "Reaching Out - Shining" were held with stories and sharing about the journey of women and children in the highlands who have been striving to overcome gender barriers through many activities of the Project 8 effectively implemented by the Women's Union at all levels such as: propaganda, mobilizing to change "thinking, ways of doing"; promoting gender equality through many models, of which the typical model is the "Leader of Change" model in some localities across the country. Paintings by students from the "We Can" Initiative, coordinated by UNESCO and CJ Group with theeducation sector in the provinces of Cao Bang, Ninh Thuan and Vinh Long, expressed the dreams and aspirations of the students, carrying a strong message calling for joint efforts to accompany women and children of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in the journey of "breaking down prejudices", mastering the future and shining in their own way.
At the end of the program, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, 3 consolation prizes and 3 voting prizes to the winning schools in the poster drawing and presentation contest on the topic "Removing barriers - Reaching out to shine".
The event is a meaningful communication activity, aiming to arouse and encourage the spirit of overcoming difficulties, inspire and accompany students to study, grow and pursue their dreams. At the same time, it spreads the message "Ethnic minority women should confidently take control of their lives".
