Lots of activities for Green Sunday

(ABO) Practically organizing activities in response to the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign associated with the implementation of environmental protection works in 2025, on May 25, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union - Secretariat of the Vietnam Youth Union Committee of Tien Giang province simultaneously launched the 2nd Green Sunday in 2025 in Tan My Chanh commune, My Tho city.

At the provincial level, activities were organized such as: launching a campaign to clean up, cut down trees and remove illegal advertising boards on rural roads; implementing the project "Green Aspiration - For a Clean River" to clean up water hyacinths and waste to clear the flow of canals and ditches, with a total length of 2 km, with the participation of more than 50 union members, youth and people. This is also one of the typical targets that union members and youth in the whole province are determined to carry out throughout this year's Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign.

Responding to the 2nd Green Sunday, 100% of the Youth Union - Association chapters at all levels in communes, wards and towns in the province simultaneously launched 169 practical and meaningful works and projects such as: Cleaning and cutting down trees that obstruct the view on youth-managed roads, public places, residential areas, removing advertisements; planting 4,080 new trees, worth 147.9 million VND; repairing and patching 13.8 km of youth flower roads, worth 46.6 million VND.

The Youth Union at all levels launched the repair of a rural road, with a total cost of 65 million VND; implemented youth projects to consolidate the self-managed youth road, the "Bright - green - clean - beautiful - civilized - safe" road, "Youth flower road", with a total length of 15 km; eliminated "black spots", collected and treated waste; promoted and expanded the models of "People's markets, residential areas limiting plastic waste", deployed 4 new models of waste classification at source, worth 12 million VND... The launch day attracted nearly 5,000 union members, youth and people to participate, with a total benefit of 600 million VND.

The second Green Sunday in 2025 is part of the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, through the "Green Sunday" movement, which has partly solved many "black spots" of environmental pollution. The "Green Sunday" movement was launched and maintained regularly by all levels of the Provincial Youth Union, becoming one of the regular activities of the youth. "Green Sunday" is not only a movement for union members and young people to collect garbage and clean the environment, but also aims to raise people's awareness.

In addition to launching activities, Youth Union and Association organizations have stepped up propaganda and mobilization work to encourage people not to litter, to dump garbage in designated places; to keep water sources and livestock barns clean, to use fertilizers and pesticides according to instructions, etc. From there, step by step, we will build and form a more civilized and environmentally responsible lifestyle for each individual in the community.
