Tien Giang: Training on national defense and security knowledge for religious dignitaries and officials of religious organizations

(ABO) On May 26, the National Defense and Security Education Council of Tien Giang province held the opening ceremony of the National Defense and Security Knowledge Training Course for dignitaries and officials of religious organizations in the province.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Dieu, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of Tien Giang Provincial People's Committee attended and delivered a speech at the ceremony.

The training course took place over 4 days, from May 26 to 29, 2025, with key contents including: The Party's viewpoints and guidelines, the State's policies and laws on building an all-people national defense, an all-people national defense posture associated with people's security, and a people's security posture; the work of protecting political , economic, cultural and ideological security in the new situation; ethnic and religious issues associated with national defense and security tasks; fighting against the strategy of "peaceful evolution" and violent overthrow by hostile forces; preventing and combating violations of the law in cyberspace; combining socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security, expanding foreign affairs activities in the current context of integration.

Through the course, dignitaries and officials will be trained and have their awareness raised about the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on ethnic and religious affairs and national defense and security tasks in the new situation. From there, they will understand the plots and tricks of hostile forces, especially the exploitation of ethnic and religious issues to sabotage the revolutionary cause of our people. The training course contributes to consolidating and strengthening the great national unity bloc, effectively implementing the motto "living a good life, living a good religion", actively participating in building and defending the Fatherland.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Nguyen Thanh Dieu emphasized the importance of ensuring national defense and security in the new situation, especially in maintaining political stability and social order and safety. He acknowledged and highly appreciated the role of religious dignitaries and officials in propagating and mobilizing followers to strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws, contributing to the defeat of hostile forces' plots to divide the great national unity bloc.

Comrade Nguyen Thanh Dieu believes that through the training course, religious dignitaries and officials will promptly update new knowledge, grasp the Party's viewpoints, policies and laws of the State, as well as issues of national defense, security, ethnicity and religion, thereby actively propagating and mobilizing followers and Buddhists to well implement the Party's policies and the State's laws at the grassroots level.
