Saka will sign a new contract, receive the highest salary at Arsenal |
Bukayo Saka has agreed a new contract with Arsenal, The Athletic has revealed. The England striker is expected to sign a new deal in November.
Saka agreed to sign a new contract with Arsenal until June 2030, with a salary of about 18 million pounds/year (before tax), equivalent to more than 350,000 pounds/week, the highest figure of the "Gunners" at present. If including bonuses, Saka also becomes the highest-paid player in Arsenal's history (370,000 - 390,000 pounds/week).
Arsenal's second highest earner is striker Kai Havertz, who earns £280,000 a week. Arsenal believe that rewarding Saka is a fair reflection of the player's hard work.
Saka is one of the top wingers in Europe. He is considered a mainstay by the club not only because of his impressive performances on the pitch, but also because he grew up in the club's youth system.
Saka was born in 2001 and grew up at Arsenal's famous Hale End training center. He is considered one of the most worth-watching players in English football today.
Previously, Saka received attention from many top European clubs such as Man City or Real Madrid. However, the English striker believes in coach Arteta's plan.
The fact that Arsenal are leading the Premier League and excelling in the Champions League next season also helps Saka agree to sign a new contract.
The Gunners are currently leading the Premier League, four points ahead of second-placed Man City. Meanwhile, in the Champions League, they are in the top group with four wins from four matches.
Another player in contract talks is Jurrien Timber. His contract with the club runs until 2028 but Arsenal want Timber to extend it until 2030.
