The latest report from The Elec says that Samsung has started considering developing a Plus version alongside the Galaxy S26 Pro, S26 Edge and S26 Ultra models next year. This is contrary to previous information that Samsung has almost decided to kill the Plus variant in the Galaxy S26 series.

To kick off the new strategy, Samsung is said to have started developing an internal device called "M Plus" to add to the Galaxy S26 series. Previously, the M1 was identified as the Galaxy S26 Pro, the M2 as the Galaxy S26 Edge, and the M3 as the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
That means there will be four Galaxy S26 models launched in 2026. The return of the Plus version promises to be interesting, especially since Samsung could launch all four models at the same time.
The Galaxy S25 Edge's weakness is why the Galaxy S26 Plus is back
The decision to revive the Plus version is said to be due to the poor sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. Samsung may have realized that the Galaxy S26 Edge cannot replace the Galaxy S26 Plus, as the Plus line has recorded impressive sales over the past two years. Component partners have reported that the Galaxy S25 Edge sales have not met expectations, affecting plans to introduce this version into the main product line and eliminate the Plus version in the future.
Although the Galaxy S25 Plus did not sell as well as the standard and Ultra models, it still sold much better than the Galaxy S25 Edge. After its launch in May 2025, Samsung drastically reduced the production of the Galaxy S25 Edge due to not reaching the expected sales milestone.
With the new plan, Samsung will likely take measures to boost sales of the Galaxy S26 Plus next year with significant improvements in specifications compared to the standard model.
