Realizing the effects of soapberry and taking advantage of locally available raw materials, in 2023, Ms. Khuat Thi Tuan started researching the formula for producing dishwashing liquid from this fruit.
Ms. Tuan said: I realized that industrial cleaning products have many ingredients that are not good for health. Therefore, I researched and combined soapberry with different ingredients to create dishwashing liquid. Initially, I produced it to serve the needs of my family. Realizing that dishwashing liquid extracted from soapberry cleans, deodorizes well and is especially safe and benign, I had the idea of developing a product to sell to many families to use.
To ensure a reliable source of raw materials, she buys soapberries picked from the forest by some households in the commune to sell. In addition, she also uses orange and tangerine peels, pineapple peels, lemongrass stems, etc. combined with soapberries to create a dishwashing liquid product that is safe for human health and friendly to the environment.
Ms. Tuan shared more: After many experiments of soaking soapberry with orange peel, tangerine peel, pineapple peel and concentrating... I was really satisfied with the aroma, viscosity and quality of the product. In December 2023, I officially opened the sale of dishwashing liquid made from soapberry. At first, the customers were mainly women in the commune who bought to support. Gradually, the product received good reviews about its quality and became known to more people.
To reach more customers, Ms. Tuan has introduced and promoted dishwashing liquid products made from soapberries on social networking sites such as: zalo, facebook, tiktok and on e-commerce platforms. Since starting production, she has sold over 500 liters of dishwashing liquid made from soapberries to the market. The main market for the product is in the district, some districts in the province and the provinces of Bac Giang , Quang Ninh...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tam, Viet Yen town, Bac Giang province said: In early 2024, through the social network Facebook, I saw Ms. Tuan posting a product selling dishwashing liquid from soapberry. Because I was looking for a safe, benign product to wash baby bottles, cups, and bowls for my baby, I ordered a bottle to try. After using it, I realized that the product was extracted from natural ingredients, deodorized well, and cleaned well, so I bought it for the whole family. Since then, my family has regularly ordered Ms. Tuan's dishwashing liquid from soapberry to use.
It is known that Ms. Tuan currently mainly uses locally available natural materials to produce dishwashing liquid using manual production methods. The product is currently bottled with full labels. The product is currently being sold at 55,000 VND/liter. With the current expanding customer base, Ms. Tuan plans to invest in more machinery and import more soapberry raw materials from the southern provinces to produce and meet customer demand.
Ms. Vi Thi Thanh Tam, Chairwoman of the Chi Lang District Women's Union, said: The project of starting a business to produce dishwashing liquid from soapberry by female member Khuat Thi Tuan, Suoi Ma village, Huu Kien commune, is a project with great development potential. The product is extracted from natural ingredients, so it is safe, effective and environmentally friendly. In the coming time, the District Women's Union will continue to pay attention and support the project author to access preferential loans to have conditions to invest and develop products. At the same time, actively introduce, connect and promote products to expand the consumption market... Thereby, contributing to creating jobs and increasing income for female members in the area.
Recently, Ms. Khuat Thi Tuan's project to produce dishwashing liquid from soapberries won second prize in the 2024 Women's Entrepreneurship Competition organized by the Chi Lang District Women's Union with the theme "Women's creative startups and green transformation".
