Currently, on the planned area for growing vegetables, tubers and fruits of more than 9 hectares, the Cooperative has built 4 CNC screen houses, with a total area of 12,000 m2, installed with automatic hanging irrigation systems; 8 hectares of production land outside are installed with automatic irrigation systems. The Cooperative has built a cold storage (specialized in preserving green vegetables) and a drying oven with a capacity of 15 tons/time, specializing in drying dried products (onions, garlic, etc.); a factory area specializing in fermenting bean sprouts with an area of 150 m2. In addition, Thanh Ha Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative has planned and re-dug the canal system within the area to meet the needs of producing vegetables, tubers and fruits instead of growing rice as before. Agricultural machinery serving industrial production is invested synchronously, such as: excavators, plows, pesticide sprayers, liquid fertilizers... At the same time, the cooperative imported nearly 1,000 tons of organic fertilizer (composted cow and chicken manure) to renovate the entire production area.
With this investment, the Cooperative maintains stable production in all crops of the year (spring, summer-autumn, autumn-winter and winter). Regarding vegetables, tubers and fruits, the Cooperative has 3 main product groups, including: spice vegetables and fruits (basil, coriander, various chili peppers, etc.); baby vegetables (sweet cabbage, apricot cabbage, Chinese cabbage, etc.); bean sprouts (green bean sprouts and soybeans). All products meet standards and are granted Viet GAP certificates. On average, the Cooperative brings to the market about 200 kg of vegetables, tubers and fruits of all kinds every day; during peak times, it reaches 400 - 500 kg of vegetables/day, mainly supplying supermarket systems in major cities. The Cooperative is registering to participate in OCOP (One Commune One Product Program) in 2025 for 4 products, including: Cotton so dua, Siamese chili, Batri chili and water spinach.
Along with the area for producing vegetables, tubers and fruits, Thanh Ha Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative exploits 3 hectares of land in the low-lying area to grow various types of lotus, including: lotus for harvesting shoots, tubers and calyxes. It is estimated that by harvest time, this production area will reach about more than 100 kg/day of lotus products brought to the market. 2 hectares of fruit trees (Taiwanese guava, star fruit, kumquat...) of the Cooperative are also starting to bear fruit. Particularly, guava in the harvest season reaches about more than 1 quintal of fruit/day...
With the direction of diversified production development and planning and exploitation of land areas suitable for each type of crop, the cooperative has brought high economic efficiency. The production area in CNC greenhouses alone reaches 50 - 70 million VND/sao/year; the outdoor production area is 4 - 5 times higher than the previous rice cultivation area. Thanh Ha Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative attracts and creates regular jobs for 20 local workers. According to Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Ha, Director of Thanh Ha Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative, the production area of the cooperative is gradually stabilizing. The quantity and variety of products increased 3 - 4 times in the first year. In the future, the cooperative will continue to invest in developing more diverse production products and increasing output for the market.
However, in the production process, Thanh Ha Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative is facing some difficulties. Specifically, the land area used to be monocultured with rice, so the time to renovate the land to convert crops is longer than initially expected. On the other hand, because the land level here is low, the irrigation system for the whole region mainly serves rice, so it is difficult to bring other crops into production. With just over 100 mm of rain, many production areas have been flooded. Even the CNC screen houses were flooded, affecting the crops inside... The only temporary solution is to build embankments around to prevent water...
In the coming time, Thanh Ha Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative will transfer all production to the current cultivation area in Binh Luc. The focus is on developing vegetables, spices, baby vegetables, especially the main product of sprouts. To develop production, the Cooperative is continuing to overcome difficulties, especially planning and building an irrigation system to ensure drainage for the vegetable, root and fruit growing area. Along with that, the Cooperative really needs support from the common irrigation system managed by the locality and enterprises to ensure quick drainage, limiting the impact when heavy rain occurs. Thanh Ha Agricultural Production and Service Cooperative has entered stable and effective production, forming the nucleus for developing a CNC agricultural model, contributing to increasing production value and income for people.
