After finishing the first exam of the 10th grade entrance exam, the exam was assessed to be close to the program.

After 120 minutes of taking the Literature exam in essay format, many candidates assessed that the basic exam was within their ability, close to the curriculum and their awareness of social issues.

The first candidate left the exam room after successfully completing the Literature exam on the afternoon of June 6 at the exam site of Bien Hoa Specialized High School.

At exactly 4:30 p.m. on June 6, more than 11,000 candidates taking the entrance exam for grade 10 of Ha Nam province's public high schools for the 2025-2026 school year finished their first exam - Literature.

The exam structure consists of two parts, part I is reading comprehension (4 points), candidates need to answer 5 questions after reading the passage by author Nguyen Ngoc Thuan excerpted from "Collection of good short stories written for children" published in 2012, accordingly requiring candidates to identify the message of the passage.

Part II (6 points), includes 2 questions: Question 1, write an argumentative paragraph (about 200 words) about the father character in the excerpt by author Nguyen Ngoc Thuan (in part 1); Question 2, requires candidates to write an argumentative essay presenting their thoughts and proposing appropriate solutions to reduce plastic waste.

According to some Literature teachers in high schools in the province, the exam questions are suitable for students, enough to classify and evaluate students' abilities according to the requirements of the 2018 GeneralEducation Program. From the structure to the type of questions, they are all within the curriculum and review of the schools.

However, when I received the exam, I felt very good, focused my time and mind on doing the test. The content of the exam has been reviewed by the teachers. Candidate Nguyen Ngoc Tue, Nguyen Khuyen Secondary School, Binh Luc District, said that he really liked question 2 in part II of the exam. This is a current issue, which has been talked about a lot recently. Even during their studies at school, teachers often talk to students about environmental protection, responsibilities and human contributions to a better environment. If students are interested in social issues, watch TV and read newspapers, they will have a basic understanding of the issue and easily solve this question.

As for candidate Nguyen Thi Minh Hieu, a student at Le Hong Phong Secondary School, Phu Ly City, who finished the exam quite early, she shared: The Literature exam was neither difficult nor easy. All the content and structure of the exam were very familiar to us. For the literary essay question about plastic waste, I relied on my knowledge through watching VTV news and special programs and on the mass media. In fact, the materials for this issue were quite rich. I am very happy to have completed a fairly good exam.

According to the report from the Department of Education and Training on the exam situation, after the first exam on the afternoon of June 6, the whole province had 11,036 candidates present for the exam, 13 candidates were absent. No candidates or teachers working in the exam violated the exam regulations. All exam sites were guaranteed security, order and safety both inside and outside. The authorities worked responsibly at the exam sites according to plan.

Tomorrow morning (June 7), candidates will take the Math test in multiple-choice format, starting at 8am, with a duration of 120 minutes.
