Merge Hoa Lu District with Ninh Binh City to form Hoa Lu City

On August 13, information from the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the People's Council of Ninh Binh province said that the People's Council of Ninh Binh province has just issued a Resolution on approving the policy of rearranging administrative units at district and commune levels in Ninh Binh province, period 2023 - 2025.

Accordingly, the People's Council of Ninh Binh province resolved to approve the policy of establishing Hoa Lu City on the basis of merging Hoa Lu District with an area of ​​103.49 km² and a population of 83,613 people with Ninh Binh City with a natural area of ​​46.75 km² and a population of 154,596 people. After establishment, Hoa Lu City has a natural area of ​​150.24 km² and a population of 238,209 people.

After the merger, the east of Hoa Lu City borders Yen Khanh District, the west borders Gia Vien District and Nho Quan District, the south borders Yen Mo District and Tam Diep City, the north borders Gia Vien District and Y Yen District ( Nam Dinh ).

The Resolution of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council also approved the policy of establishing wards under Hoa Lu City, including: establishing Van Giang Ward on the basis of merging the original status of Phuc Thanh Ward with Thanh Binh Ward; establishing Ninh Nhat Ward on the basis of merging the original status of Ninh Xuan Commune with Ninh Nhat Commune.

Establish Ninh Hai Ward on the basis of merging Ninh Thang Commune with Ninh Hai Commune; establish Ninh My Ward on the basis of merging Ninh My Commune with Thien Ton Town; establish Ninh Phuc Ward on the basis of Ninh Phuc Commune; establish Ninh Tien Ward on the basis of Ninh Tien Commune; establish Ninh Giang Ward on the basis of Ninh Giang Commune.

In addition, the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council also approved the policy of merging and establishing many other commune-level administrative units in Nho Quan, Gia Vien, Yen Mo, Yen Khanh, and Kim Son districts.

Ninh Binh province has a natural area of ​​1,411.86 ^km2 and a population of 1,126,443 people. After the rearrangement of commune-level and district-level administrative units in the 2023-2025 period, Ninh Binh province will have only 7 district-level administrative units (reduced by 1 district), including: 2 cities of Hoa Lu and Tam Diep, 5 districts of Gia Vien, Nho Quan, Yen Mo, Yen Khanh and Kim Son.

For commune-level administrative units, after the administrative unit arrangement in the 2023 - 2025 period, the whole Ninh Binh province will have 125 commune-level administrative units.

The Ninh Binh Provincial People's Council has assigned the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee to complete the project dossier on administrative unit arrangement according to regulations to submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
