A highway is about to be connected from Ho Chi Minh City.

BTO- These last days of the year, at the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway construction site, thousands of engineers, workers and machinery and equipment are urgently working day and night to meet the technical traffic opening date on December 30, 2023 according to the contract.

The entire expressway from Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) is only waiting for more than 78 km of the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway section to be completed and connected in one go. Therefore, the Government and the Ministry of Transport have directed very strongly and urgently to put the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway into use on April 30, 2024. The biggest challenge of this expressway project is drilling the Vung mountain tunnel (2.2 km long in Thuan Nam district - Ninh Thuan ), this is the longest road tunnel on the North - South expressway in the East, due to the unexpectedly weak geological foundation, Deo Ca Group had to spend an additional 3 months and a lot of construction costs. Currently, inside the Vung mountain tunnel, hundreds of Deo Ca workers are working in 3 shifts to open the traffic by the end of April 2024.

Bridge No. 3 - Km60 is a bridge with a 47m high pillar belonging to the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway project that officially closed, connecting the two provinces of Khanh Hoa - Ninh Thuan at noon on December 4.

The Cam Lam - Vinh Hao Expressway project started construction in September 2021, 78.5 km long (from the intersection with Nha Trang - Cam Lam Expressway to Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway), with an investment capital of VND 8,900 billion, in the form of PPP, passing through 3 provinces: Khanh Hoa (5 km) - Ninh Thuan (63 km) - Binh Thuan (12 km), connecting with Nha Trang - Cam Lam and Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressways (opened to traffic on May 19, 2023), to seamlessly connect the expressway from Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) and vice versa, shortening the journey by half from 8 hours along National Highway 1 to more than 4 hours, helping to connect tourist centers, industrial parks, airports, seaports, promoting economic and tourism development in the South Central provinces, including Binh Thuan.

In 2023, a series of component projects of the North-South Expressway in the East will be completed and put into use, opening up socio-economic development opportunities for many localities, including Binh Thuan.
