Serious landslide on a key road in Quang Ngai

QNgTV- Quang Ngai Department of Construction has just coordinated with Dinh Cuong commune to inspect the current status of the landslide at Km 14+500 on DT.624B route, discuss solutions to fix and protect the project so that people can travel with peace of mind, ensuring traffic safety on the route.

Provincial Road 624B has a large traffic volume, starting at the intersection with National Highway 1 in Mo Cay Commune (Duc Chanh Commune, old Mo Duc District), and ending at the intersection with National Highway 24 in Ba Dong Commune (Ba Lien Commune, old Ba To District). The route is more than 45km long, mainly following the banks of the Ve River, progressing in an East-West direction.

Since the end of 2024, to ensure traffic safety and avoid accidents, half of the road has been barricaded, making it difficult for people and vehicles to move around. After two heavy rains lasting from October 25 to November 4, the water level of the Ve River rose and flowed rapidly, making the landslide at the old location more and more serious.

Quang Ngai Department of Construction assessed that the landslide situation at this location is showing signs of becoming more serious with each flood. Therefore, the unit will advise the Provincial People's Committee to allocate resources to thoroughly overcome the above situation.
