In the early morning of November 11, floodwaters from upstream suddenly poured into the downstream area, causing many households living around Suoi Cat bridge (village 3, Ham Liem commune, Lam Dong province) to be severely flooded.
By 10 o'clock the same day, the water had not yet receded, many sections around the bridge turned into raging streams, carrying trash and tree branches.
According to records, the residential area on the Suoi Cat bridge side was most severely affected, with water rising nearly 1 meter in some places, flooding houses and inundating many crop areas.
Ms. Vo Minh Hai, a local resident, said: “At around 3 a.m., the water suddenly flooded very quickly, we only had time to raise our furniture. We had just finished cleaning up the previous flood and now it is flooding again.”

Due to the large amount of water and strong currents, many roads in the area were cut off, making it impossible for vehicles to move. Some households had to keep their children home from school to ensure safety.
Mr. Pham Ba, who lives near Suoi Cat bridge, said: "Every time it rains heavily for a few days, the water comes pouring in. This year, it has flooded three times. What we worry about most is the water rising at night, when we can't react in time."

Representatives of the People's Committee of Ham Liem commune advised people not to travel through deeply flooded areas. The cause of the flooding was due to prolonged heavy rain, combined with the Song Quao reservoir regulating flood discharge, causing water to flow in very quickly.

It is known that in just the past 10 days, Suoi Cat bridge area has been flooded 3 times, greatly affecting people's lives, activities and production.
