Disciplinary council to be established for teachers who beat preschool children in Phu Quoc

On the afternoon of April 14, the Phu Quoc City Department of Internal Affairs announced that the unit had just coordinated with the Phu Quoc City Department of Education and Training to organize a process to guide the review of the school board and teachers involved in the incident of beating preschool children at Duong Dong Kindergarten (Duong Dong Ward), which has caused a stir in public opinion recently.

"On April 12 (Saturday), the unit completed the review process and asked the relevant teachers at the school to accept the appropriate form of review for their responsibilities.

After that, the unit will submit to the Phu Quoc City People's Committee to establish a council to handle disciplinary action against the teachers. It is expected that the locality will complete this week," said a leader of the Phu Quoc City Internal Affairs Department.

Previously, Tuoi Tre Online reported that on March 22, Phu Quoc netizens posted many short clips recording the scene of many female teachers (teaching from nursery to leaf classes) at Duong Dong Kindergarten (Phu Quoc City) hitting the shoulders and pinching the ears of children.

Some teachers even used mosquito rackets to force the children to line up properly; or used long objects like pieces of foam to hit the children.

Phu Quoc City Department of Education and Training said that through the report, 6 teachers at this school had inappropriate behavior with preschool children; the school apologized and parents sympathized and forgave.

The tools teachers use to beat preschool children are made of PE foam.
