Da Nang gives priority to enrolling children of Quang Nam officials after the merger

TPO - On May 13, the People's Committee of Da Nang City announced that it had just issued a document directing the education sector and localities on enrollment after the merger.

According to the Project on rearranging and reorganizing administrative units and building a two-level government model approved by the Prime Minister, Quang Nam province and Da Nang city will merge into Da Nang city, with the political and administrative center located in Da Nang.

To ensure the rights of children of officials, civil servants and public employees of Quang Nam province after the merger, especially those at the age of admission to grades 1 and 6, the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested the Department of Education and Training (GD&DT) and districts to have a plan to prioritize admitting these children to public schools in the area.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Department of Education and Training to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to develop a reception plan. Note to ensure that learning is not interrupted, especially in preschool, primary and secondary schools. Provide specific instructions to schools in the area on flexibly receiving applications, creating favorable conditions for school transfer and admission according to regulations. At the same time, coordinate with the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam province to grasp the number of students who are children of officials, civil servants and public employees who need to transfer schools to Da Nang to study.

The People's Committees of districts must direct the Department of Education and Training to review the needs and develop plans for student allocation in accordance with the physical conditions and student numbers of each school. Public schools must proactively accept students who are children of officials, civil servants, and public employees from Quang Nam who are transferred, transferred, or are working in Da Nang. The arrangement should prioritize schools near the parents' residence or workplace.
