
This is a stepping stone tournament for the U22 Vietnam team to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games (Thailand). The tournament takes place from November 12-18 in Sichuan (China). U22 Vietnam will train and compete under the direction of assistant Dinh Hong Vinh. U22 Vietnam will compete with quality opponents including China, Korea and Uzbekistan.
In preparation, today, November 6, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced the list of the Vietnam U22 team as selected by coach Kim Sang-sik. Accordingly, the team will consist of 26 players with the core force being the names that just won the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship and won tickets to the 2026 Asian U23 Finals such as: Khuat Van Khang, Nguyen Dinh Bac, Viktor Le, Pham Ly Duc...

Notably on the attack line, besides Nguyen Quoc Viet, Nguyen Thanh Nhan and Nguyen Ngoc My, coach Kim Sang-sik called back striker Bui Vi Hao after a long period of injury.
According to the plan, after the end of the Panda Cup 2025, the Vietnam U22 team will continue training in Vung Tau before leaving for Thailand to attend the 33rd SEA Games from December 2.
At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam U22 team is in Group B with the Malaysia U22 and Laos U22 teams. According to the schedule, the team will play against Laos U22 at 6:30 p.m. on December 4, then against Malaysia U22 at 6:30 p.m. on December 11.

Group B matches will be played at Tinsulanon Stadium (Songkhla). The three group winners and the best runners-up will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-finals will be held on December 15, while the bronze medal match and the final will be held on December 18, both at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok).
