Will build tourism product 'Cua Lo without winter'

On the morning of May 17, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An organized a seminar to evaluate Nghe An tourism products and services in 2025. The program is part of a series of events of the National Lotus Village Festival in 2025 and the inauguration of the "Uncle Ho Visits His Hometown" Monument, celebrating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday.

The seminar was attended by Mr. Truong Quoc Hung - Chairman of the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien - Chairman of Nghe An Tourism Association, leaders of specialized departments under the Hanoi Department of Tourism and representatives of more than 60 leaders of travel and tourism service businesses who are members of the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club from provinces and cities.

At the Seminar, delegates assessed the current situation and potential of Nghe An tourism products; shared some experiences in exploiting the potential of the products; and suggested some solutions for Nghe An tourism to develop more strongly in the coming time such as: applying digital technology , QR codes, building some unique night tourism products to experience at the Kim Lien - Nam Dan National Special Historical Relic Site, organizing MICE tourism products at Cua Lo beach; improving service quality, facilities...

Delegates expressed many enthusiastic opinions contributing to Nghe An tourism industry.

One of the “hot” issues that many delegates mentioned was improving the quality of tourism human resources in Nghe An. The story of seasonal tourism and seasonal human resources, although not new, is one of the reasons why travel agencies are “uneasy” about sending tourists to Nghe An.

A delegate said that Nghe An tourism has a lot of potential and attracts the sympathy of travel agencies and international tourists with "unique" destinations such as Uncle Ho's hometown, increasingly convenient transportation... However, Nghe An tourism easily loses points due to very small details such as: unprofessional human resources, not meeting minimum service standards, poor hygiene, sometimes not really friendly communication... This leads to the reality that there are groups of tourists who "never return" and the fear of travel agencies when building tours to Nghe An.

In addition to the human resource training strategy, Nghe An tourism industry needs to build a stronger communication strategy, package its own tourism products to "offer" to travel agencies, spread existing products more strongly and build new tourism products.

Acknowledging the enthusiastic opinions of the delegates, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An, Tran Thi My Hanh, shared: The long-standing concern of the industry leaders is to improve seasonal tourism in Nghe An. In the summer, Nghe An still attracts a large number of visitors to Cua Lo and Uncle Ho's hometown, but in the winter it is really desolate.

To solve this problem, right after the 2025 Sen Village Festival, Nghe An Tourism will start building winter tourism products called "Cua Lo without winter". Needing to get rid of the concept of "the sea is only for swimming", Cua Lo can build check-in points, develop spiritual tourism with famous temples nearby, build festivals, stories of craft villages; research on night tours with destinations such as Uncle Ho's hometown, Hoang Muoi temple, Quang Trung temple... to build a 3-day tourism product in Cua Lo.

Regarding human resources, according to the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An, the root cause of the lack of professional human resources also stems from seasonal tourism. Along with the training strategy, improving seasonal tourism will improve service quality. At the same time, in the near future, the industry will cooperate with tourism businesses in the area to simultaneously implement preferential policies, discounts, and product packaging to build "Cua Lo without winter".

On May 15-17, 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Nghe An organized a Famtrip delegation to survey tourist destinations and tourism services in Nghe An. This is an opportunity for localities and tourism destination service businesses in Nghe An to introduce and connect with travel service businesses in provinces and cities in the country.

The delegation will survey tourism products and services, destinations such as Kim Lien National Special Historical Relic Site, Chung Son Temple, Vinwonders Cua Hoi Entertainment Area, Cua Lo Beach, Muong Thanh Green Land Dien Lam Ecological Area, Do Luong Legend Camping & Resort tourist destination, hotels and restaurants providing tourism services in Vinh city, experience Hai Chau cruise service, listen to Nghe Tinh folk songs, participate in activities at the sideline event of the 2025 Sen Village Festival.
