The young Vietnamese players will not have the guidance of more experienced seniors when they take the field at the 33rd SEA Games. However, "it's difficult for others, it's difficult for us", other teams in the region also face similar difficulties. The current resources of Vietnamese football are not lacking in quality U.22 players. In this aspect, Thai and Indonesian football are also very formidable. Because the football of the Golden Temple and the archipelago have taken steps to prepare for the next generation early.

Before that, coach Kim Sang-sik will also lead the Vietnam U.23 team to compete in the 2026 U.23 Asian qualifiers in September 2025.

The Vietnamese women's team will aim to defend their gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games. If they win the championship, the Vietnamese women's team will win the gold medal for the fifth consecutive time (from 2017 to 2023).
