Fatal mistake about Son Heung-min

Son, however, had an embarrassing moment when a politician made a big mistake while welcoming the South Korean captain to play football in the US. Congresswoman Heather Hutt took the stage and addressed the Tottenham legend, but mistakenly identified his nationality.

"When the World Cup comes, we expect a victory in Los Angeles for Team USA. We are here to help you do that," she said. Son could only smile in response.

The 33-year-old superstar also met with LA Mayor Karen Bass and city officials. He described joining LAFC as a dream come true. "I came here to win and we will definitely succeed," Son concluded.

Son joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 for a fee of £22 million, becoming a symbol of the club with 173 goals, including 127 in the Premier League, and 101 assists in 454 matches.

Although he only won the 2024 Europa League title, Son left a strong mark with many individual awards, most notably the 2021/22 Premier League Golden Boot and the 2020 Puskas Award for his world- class solo goal against Burnley.
