Hoang Duc and Ninh Binh football fans are experiencing a resounding success in this V-League season.
The V-League 2025-2026 standings are gradually separating the groups after the conclusion of round 8. The two leading teams, Ninh Binh FC and Hanoi Police, are gradually widening their points gap with the chasing pack.
Winning against hosts PVF-CAND marked Ninh Binh FC's second consecutive away win, securing all three points. This also demonstrates the team's status as a V-League championship contender under coach Albadalejo Castano Gerard, despite the team from the ancient capital of Hoa Lu having recently been promoted to the top professional league in the country.

The 1-2 defeat against Hoang Anh Gia Lai at Pleiku Stadium knocked The Cong Viettel out of the top two. This result also marked the first defeat of the season for Coach Popov's team. Prior to this, The Cong Viettel had maintained consistent form with a seven-match unbeaten streak.
Before hosting The Cong Viettel, Hoang Anh Gia Lai was at the bottom of the table, still without a win in the V-League 2025-2026. However, the Pleiku-based team surprised Vietnamese football by securing all three points against their formidable opponent in round 8. While this first victory wasn't enough to improve their position in the standings, it provided added motivation to aim for successful relegation survival at the end of the season.

...and Quang Hai in the Police Department derby
Taking advantage of The Cong Viettel's failure in round 8, Hanoi Police FC secured a spectacular victory against Ho Chi Minh City Police FC, moving up to second place in the standings. Notably, Coach Polking's team played with ten men from the 20th minute but still dominated the game, controlling the match and scoring the only goal to secure all three points in the police derby.
The most disappointing result of round 8 was the 1-1 draw between hosts Nam Dinh and Da Nang FC. Despite having a strong squad and high-quality foreign players, the defending champions were at a disadvantage due to several players being injured and unable to play.

Alan continues to shine, helping Hanoi Police overcome difficult challenges.
With only seven reserve players registered, including two goalkeepers, the Nam Dinh club's coaching staff even prepared a jersey for goalkeeper Nguyen Manh in case another starting player suffered an injury.
Therefore, despite having the home advantage at Thien Truong Stadium, Nam Dinh fell behind first. If it weren't for Lucas Alves de Araujo's goal in the 89th minute, Coach Trung Kien's team would have left empty-handed in round 8 and continued to drop in the standings.

Also in this round, Hanoi FC rediscovered their winning form after changing their head coach. Coach Harry Kewell's team endured a grueling "waterlogged" match at Go Dau Stadium and came from behind to win 3-2 against hosts Becamex Ho Chi Minh City.
Naturalized player Do Hoang Hen made his mark with his first assist and first goal, securing Hanoi FC's first victory under coach Harry Kewell. This result also helped the capital city team climb to 6th place in the standings with 11 points, 9 points behind the league leaders.
