As a province with more than 20 ethnic groups living together, Tuyen Quang has a rich and diverse festival system, spanning across geographical space and historical flow. Many types of intangible culture of Tuyen Quang have been included in the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage such as Then singing, Sinh ca singing, Dao Cap sac ceremony, Long Tong festival... demonstrating the enduring vitality of the colorful cultural traditions of Tuyen Quang's ethnic groups.

In particular, in recent years, Tuyen Quang tourism has affirmed its brand when it was consecutively voted by the World Travel Awards Organization as "Asia's Leading Emerging Tourist Destination in 2023"; "Asia's Leading Cultural Destination in 2024". Most recently, it was awarded the title "Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark, Tuyen Quang, Vietnam - Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination in 2025". In addition, Lo Lo Chai village, Lung Cu commune was awarded the "World's Best Tourist Village in 2025" by the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism); Panhou Retreat Resort, Thong Nguyen commune was honored in the category of Asia's Leading Green Resort... These are the most prestigious categories to honor destinations with outstanding achievements in preserving indigenous culture, developing sustainable tourism and preserving natural ecosystems. Thereby affirming the position of Tuyen Quang on the regional and international tourism map.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: “My family and I have traveled to Tuyen Quang many times. Each season has its own beauty. I am not only impressed by the peaceful and charming beauty, wonders such as Ma Pi Leng Pass and Tu San Canyon, but Tuyen Quang also has famous historical and cultural relics. Every year, my family visits the Dong Van Stone Plateau, takes the children to visit the Tan Trao Special Historical Relic Site, and enjoys Tuyen Quang cuisine.”

The boost from tourism

According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang, in the third quarter of 2025, the province welcomed 953,868 visitors, of which 90,084 were international visitors and 863,784 were domestic visitors, thereby raising the total number of tourists to the province in the first 10 months of 2025 to an estimated over 3 million. Total tourist spending in the area is estimated at over VND 8,026 billion.

Not only stopping at numbers, it is worth mentioning that Tuyen Quang has been making efforts to connect tourism development through community products in villages; developing many new, unique and attractive types of tourism such as: cave exploration; waterfall climbing; kayak racing, SUP surfing; adventure sports tourism on mountains such as paragliding, cycling, car racing, off-road motorbikes. The combination of sports activities, cultural performances, street night markets, and trade fairs has also created new attractions for tourists.

Ms. Ly Thi Lanh, owner of Homestay in Thuong Lam commune, said: “In recent years, the number of tourists coming to visit and experience Thuong Lam has increased steadily, especially visitors from Hanoi and the delta provinces. They like to eat grilled fish from Gam river, drink corn wine made from leaves, listen to Then singing and Coi singing. Thanks to that, my family has an additional source of income, and the villagers are also motivated to preserve their identity.”

Mr. Lai Quoc Tinh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of H'Mong Village Resort, Lung Tam Commune, shared: At the end of the year, especially during each buckwheat flower season, the resort welcomes hundreds of tourists/day and night, bringing stable income to dozens of local workers with an average income of 6 - 9 million VND/person/month.
