Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, has just successfully concluded the “12.12 Birthday Sale” event, marking Shopee's 9th year in Vietnam.
Notably, this year's "12.12 Birthday Sale" also attracted a large number of domestic sellers and brands from a variety of industries, helping them achieve a 12-fold increase in the number of orders sold on December 12 compared to normal days.

The “12.12 Birthday Sale” event has seen a series of new shopping trends emerge, notably shopping combined with entertainment using trending tools such as livestream and video, which are increasingly popular, especially with young users.
Accordingly, the number of products sold via Shopee Live and Shopee Video on December 12 increased 9 times compared to the average on a normal day.
Among these, the program "Sao Live Dinh Chop" broadcast on the evening of December 11 with the participation of Bui Cong Nam, Kay Tran, Tang Phuc and host Neko Le successfully attracted more than 8.4 million live views on all platforms. At its peak, the program recorded more than 250,000 concurrent views on the Shopee Live section on the Shopee app.
The event also noted that consumers’ demand for beauty and self-care increased sharply during the year-end holidays. Facial care and makeup products were among the top 5 best-selling product categories on December 12, with orders sold 7-8 times higher than usual.
In addition, users also increased their searches for fall and winter clothing and accessories with popular keywords such as "scarves", "coats", and "sweaters".
Shopee said that free shipping is still an important factor and has a big impact on consumers' purchasing decisions. Through the "0 VND Shipping Fee" program, Shopee helped users save 840 billion VND in shipping fees throughout the 12.12 event.
This result is part of the 2,200 billion VND that users have saved thanks to attractive promotions at Shopee's birthday sale.
This e-commerce platform recorded more than 24 million products sold in suburban areas, showing the wide and rapid coverage of e-commerce. Of which, the 5 suburban cities with the highest number of sales on December 12 were Dong Nai, Binh Duong , Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Bac Ninh and Hai Duong.
In addition, the number of orders sold through Shopee Mall & Premium increased 7 times compared to normal days, affirming that the trend of buying genuine products is increasingly popular and preferred among online consumers. In particular, the top 5 most prominent brands on Shopee Mall during the 12.12 event include LG, Puma, Coolmate, Nutifood, Lancôme.
