Viettel High-Tech Research and Development Data Center is located in Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park, Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City.

The project is deployed on an area of nearly 4 hectares, with a total designed capacity of up to 140 MW of electricity with about 10,000 racks. It is the first data center (TTDL) in Vietnam to reach a capacity of over 100MW, also known as super large scale, equivalent to large data centers in the world .

Viettel affirms to implement the project with the highest speed, discipline and quality. Phase 1 of the project is expected to be operational in the first quarter of 2026, and the entire project will be completed before 2030.

Mr. Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group, emphasized: "The super-large-scale data center in Tan Phu Trung is not a single project. This is a strategically important piece in the overall picture of digital infrastructure that Viettel is continuing to build - an ecosystem in which data is stored, transmitted, processed and protected in the safest way."

Currently, Viettel has 15 data centers operating in Hanoi , Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Binh Duong.

"This year, we will complete 20,000 5G broadcasting stations, ensuring coverage of 95% of urban residential areas nationwide. The superior connection speed infrastructure and super-scale computing infrastructure are ready to provide comprehensive services to people, businesses and the government," Mr. Tao Duc Thang added.

The groundbreaking of Tan Phu Trung data center is an important milestone in Viettel's journey to create national digital infrastructure, demonstrating its commitment to pioneering and leading the way in building a digital society in Vietnam.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan emphasized: "The operation of the super-scale data center in Cu Chi is not only of strategic significance to Viettel but also creates a strong driving force for the city in developing digital infrastructure, building smart cities and digital government".

This center will promote the application of advanced technologies such as AI, 5G network, cloud computing, IoT, Blockchain, cybersecurity and Big Data, while contributing to the formation of an innovative ecosystem, improving the quality of digital human resources and creating high-value jobs to serve the development of the digital economy and digital society of Ho Chi Minh City.

Tan Phu Trung Data Center is designed and operated according to Uptime Tier III international standards. The center has an average power density of 10kW/rack, 2.5 times higher than the average in Vietnam. The highest rack capacity is up to 60kW, meeting the high-performance computing needs of large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) models and applications.

To achieve this high power density, Tan Phu Trung data center applies advanced cooling technologies and smart management systems based on artificial intelligence "made by Viettel".

By applying new technologies, advanced materials and efficient operations, the data center is expected to achieve a power usage effectiveness (PUE) of less than 1.4.
