The 43rd Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championship officially kicked off

The 43rd Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championship will take place from May 19 to May 26 with 7 competitions: Men's team, women's team, men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. The seeding and group drawing will be based on the results of the 2024 National Table Tennis Championship.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh, Head of the Steering Committee of the tournament, said that the National Table Tennis Championship of Nhan Dan Newspaper has been held continuously for 43 years. These tournaments have contributed to selecting and training many generations of talented table tennis players, competing excellently in domestic and international arenas, bringing glory to the Fatherland.

According to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, this year's tournament took place in the general excitement of Vietnamese table tennis as it continued to have professional improvements in recent times, especially at a time when athletes are focusing on training and competing to prepare for the upcoming 33rd SEA Games and the National Sports Festival in 2026. "The 43rd National Table Tennis Championship of Nhan Dan Newspaper in 2025 set a record with the largest number of athletes participating in the competition ever with 205 athletes from 22 professional table tennis delegations of provinces, cities, industries, and enterprises nationwide. This year's tournament promises to be of very high professional quality and competition with the participation of strong table tennis centers such as: Hanoi, Hai Duong, Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Army, People's Public Security T&T, Ho Chi Minh City.

The 43rd Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Championship is an activity to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day (September 2) and 50 years of the liberation of Da Nang city.

According to the draw for the men's team, the group stage in Group A has Hanoi 1, Ho Chi Minh City 1, Dong Nai 2; Group B includes T&T People's Police 1, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong; Group C includes Hai Duong 1, T&T People's Police 2, Ho Chi Minh City 2; Group D includes Army 1, Da Nang 2, Khanh Hoa 2; Group E includes Dong Nai 1, Hai Duong 2, Hanoi 2; Group F includes Ho Chi Minh City Police, T&T People's Police 3, Times City, Lam Dong 2; Group G includes Da Nang 1, Khanh Hoa 1, Hanoi 3, Nghe An and Group H includes Tien Giang, Army 2, T&T People's Police 4, Lam Dong 1.

The tournament will close and award prizes on the afternoon of May 26. The organizing committee will award 28 prizes (7 sets of medals, each set has one first prize, one second prize, two third prizes), totaling 500 million VND. In addition, there will be a number of other secondary prizes.
