Professional units collect information, evaluate and analyze risks for items with risks and potential risks in terms of price, origin, and failure to meet import conditions, standards, regulations and quality, especially items with large turnover, high value, high tax rates, conditional import and export items, and items that affect health, to promptly detect, prevent and handle violations.

Strengthen coordination with functional forces to verify the origin of goods and customs records, grasp and exchange information on fraud, tax evasion, value-added tax refunds, verify suspicious transactions (smuggling, money laundering, illegal transportation of currency across borders...) to take timely measures.

Previously, at a meeting on anti-smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, held on May 14, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested to launch a high-level campaign to fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, copyright infringement, and intellectual property infringement nationwide, from May 15 to June 15.

On May 15, the Ministry of Finance issued a plan to launch a peak month to crack down on smuggling, illegal cross-border transportation of goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, and goods of unknown origin that affect consumers' health.
