The program was organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Thanh Ward in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Red Cross Society, the Ho Chi Minh City Blood Donation Center, mass organizations, medical units, the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam - Southeast Asia Friendship Association and the Lao Student Dormitory in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the event, Ms. Hoang Mai Quynh Hoa, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Thanh Ward, said that voluntary blood donation is a noble act, demonstrating a sense of responsibility to the community. The participation of international friends further highlights the meaning of solidarity and attachment between ethnic groups.
Sharing with Tien Phong newspaper reporter, Ms. Mala Panitda, from the capital Vientiane, currently a graduate student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, said: “I have donated blood three times in Laos, but this is the first time doing this in Ho Chi Minh City. I am very happy to participate in today's activity because I get to meet many friends and people from all three countries: Laos, Vietnam, and Cambodia.”

At the end of the program, the Organizing Committee received more than 250 blood donations, including 11 people donating 450ml and 229 people donating 350ml. The amount of blood received will serve emergency and treatment work at medical facilities in the area.
