Student uniforms are part of school culture, where each individual not only expresses themselves but also respects the collective, spreading the message of politeness, standards and responsibility in theeducational environment.
Universities that have dress codes contribute to building a civilized, professional and cohesive classroom environment; at the same time, they help students practice discipline and professional manners. These are necessary qualities for comprehensive development, not only in studying but also in work and life later on.
At the Diplomatic Academy, the Code of Conduct section in the 2024 Student Handbook clearly states that during the learning and living process at the Academy as well as at agencies, organizations, places to work, and participate in activities under the name of the Academy's students, students need to choose clothes and dress style that is polite and appropriate. Avoid clothes such as pajamas, clothes that are too short, too thin, or revealing.
Also to ensure a civilized and elegant school environment, from March 2024, Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced the implementation of regulations on school uniforms for students. Specifically, the outfit must be polite, neat, clean, discreet, in accordance with Vietnamese customs and school culture: Shirt or T-shirt with sleeves; For women, wear dress pants, long jeans or skirts from knee-length down; Wear shoes or sandals with straps; Hair must be neat and polite.
According to this announcement by Vice Principal Nguyen Hai Dang, the following student uniforms are not allowed to be worn to school: Shorts, shorts, dirty ripped jeans, short skirts above the knee, low-rise pants or skirts; home wear, pajamas or pajamas, shirts that are too short to reveal the body, shirts with low necklines, tank tops, tube tops, tank tops, sleeveless shirts. Clothing made of thin, see-through chiffon, lace with holes that reveal the body, offensive; slippers, flip-flops, cotton slippers, and house slippers are also not accepted.
Ho Chi Minh City College of Industry and Trade requires students to wear uniforms on Mondays and Thursdays. On other days, students need to ensure neat and polite attire.
The school also clearly stipulates that clothing that cannot be worn to school includes: Dirty, sloppy clothing with flashy patterns that are not suitable for the educational environment; Shorts, above the knee; Clothing that is too thin, too short, revealing, causing offense... Security guards have the right to not allow students wearing these types of clothing to enter the gate.
According to the Student Affairs Department of the University, the dress code, in addition to the purpose of improving security and building classroom culture, also aims to strictly implement a civilized lifestyle in schools; build a standard style, sense of discipline, and professional demeanor of students.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education also announced on its website the regulations on uniform compliance and wearing of student ID cards. Accordingly, students must wear the school uniform on Mondays, and on other days of the week they must dress politely and modestly (no shorts, capri pants, tank tops, or sleeveless shirts).
To create a civilized and elegant school environment, Hong Bang International University stipulates that male students do not wear shorts and female students do not wear tank tops, sheer blouses or short skirts above the knee. Flip-flops are also prohibited.
Since the beginning of 2024, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy has issued a notice reminding students to strictly follow the regulations on civilized living in the school, requiring students to wear collared shirts, shoes or sandals with straps, male students to tuck their shirts into their pants, and female students to wear modest clothing. New students are encouraged to wear uniforms.
At Dong Thap University, from the beginning of the new school year 2024-2025, in the announcement on school uniforms, male students are required to wear shirts tucked into their pants and a belt, while female students are encouraged to wear traditional ao dai. This regulation both ensures politeness and honors Vietnamese culture.
