A highlight of An Giang's digital transformation in education is the successful implementation of an online enrollment system for primary and secondary schools. According to the Director of Education and Training, Tran Thi Ngoc Diem, significant progress has been made in building technological models with interconnected data. In the 2024-2025 school year, 100% of schools in the province will successfully implement online enrollment for primary and secondary schools, bringing transparency, significantly reducing administrative procedures, and enhancing the experience for parents and students.
Furthermore, the 2024-2025 10th grade entrance exam will be conducted entirely on the province's public service portal, from registration to results announcement. This step enhances fairness and transparency in this important exam, contributing to improving the province's administrative reform index. Moreover, the enrollment data is automatically connected, transferring information on successful candidates to the Ministry of Education and Training 's database, creating synchronization and seamless management.
Another important aspect is the pilot implementation of digital school records. Starting in the 2023-2024 school year at the primary level, An Giang has officially implemented digital school records for all primary schools in the current school year; the pilot program continues at the secondary level. Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Diem emphasized: “Digitizing school records not only significantly reduces paper documents and improves management efficiency, but also aligns with the goal of providing essential information and data about people's educational history in the future. This facilitates students during admissions and transitions to higher levels, as well as for people participating in work, study, and other activities throughout their lives.”
According to VNPT An Giang, the successful implementation of the Digital School Record Portal by the Department of Education and Training, in coordination with primary schools, in the 2023-2024 school year, has been highly appreciated by the Ministry of Education and Training. It is expected that in 2025, VNPT will continue to cooperate in implementing the Digital School Record for secondary schools, expanding the scope of application and multiplying the benefits of this solution. Parents can now easily update their children's academic results, grades, and teacher comments through electronic devices, helping them to monitor their children's learning progress anytime, anywhere.
“Electronic school records are very convenient. I can view my child's grades and comments anytime, without having to wait until the end of the term or a parent-teacher meeting; everything is clear and transparent. Information on electronic records is more secure than keeping a paper record at home, avoiding loss or damage. It's clear that electronic records help schools and parents access more modern and convenient management methods,” shared Ms. Ngoc An (32 years old, residing in My Binh Ward, Long Xuyen City).
Besides the outstanding achievements mentioned above, An Giang's education sector has also implemented many other digital transformation solutions, bringing practical benefits. Software for educational quality assessment, online learning and testing, and software for evaluating the level of digital transformation have been and are being effectively applied. Overall, the pilot solutions provide sufficient data for the education sector's database system, which is being proposed for official implementation, effectively serving the sector's digital transformation process in the future.
To further build upon the achievements and accelerate the digital transformation process, Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Diem emphasized that perfecting digital infrastructure, prioritizing investment in internet networks and appropriate equipment for schools in disadvantaged areas, is a key factor. Simultaneously, enhancing the digital capacity of teachers and administrators through training programs and practical guidance is also considered an urgent task. Furthermore, strengthening information security, implementing data safety solutions, expanding the digital education ecosystem, and researching the application of artificial intelligence and big data to optimize management and personalize learning experiences are also important directions, contributing to improving the quality of teaching and learning for both teachers and students.
The efforts and achievements in digital transformation of education in An Giang are a testament to the proactive, creative, and determined approach of the education sector in seizing opportunities from the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
