On the afternoon of March 3, at the Eastern Cultural Center, the Department of Science and Technology of Hai Duong province held a conference to announce decisions on organizational arrangement and personnel work.

After merging with the Department of Information and Communications, the Board of Directors of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology has 7 members, including the Director and 6 Deputy Directors.

Regarding the organizational structure, the Department has 9 departments and affiliated units including: Office, Inspectorate; 4 Departments: Technology Management and Intellectual Property; Science Management; Information Technology; Digital Infrastructure and Quality Standards; 3 Centers: Application of Science and Technology and Innovation; Information Technology; Measurement, Testing and Scientific Information.

Director of the Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Cao Thang suggested that the Department unite and make efforts to become an important driving force in the province's innovation and digital transformation.

At the conference, the Department of Science and Technology announced and awarded appointment decisions to 7 comrades who are heads of departments and units under the department (the Head of Information Technology Department and Director of Information Technology Center have not been appointed yet) and 15 comrades are deputy heads of departments (including 2 deputy heads in charge of departments).

At the conference, Comrade Nguyen Cao Thang, Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Science and Technology, emphasized that the merger not only aims to streamline the administrative apparatus and improve the efficiency of state management, but also to create an agency with sufficient capacity and vision. Thereby contributing to the province's steady steps in the digital age.

The new apparatus and new work place higher demands on the responsibility and capacity of each cadre, civil servant and public employee. The Director of the Department of Science and Technology requested the newly appointed comrades to quickly grasp the work, be proactive and creative in the leadership and direction process. The department together builds solidarity, unity, discipline and order. Review and evaluate the strengths and limitations, if any, of each department and unit to provide orientation and solutions in the coming time.

After the merger, the Department of Science and Technology has 52 positions.
