The number of candidates in Hanoi taking the 10th grade entrance exam is 10 times higher than in other provinces and cities.

According to Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong, the whole city has nearly 104,000 candidates registered for the exam, of which 268 are independent candidates.

This year, Hanoi has nearly 116,000 candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam, including more than 102,800 candidates taking the general exam and over 13,500 candidates taking the specialized exam. The conference was organized by Hanoi Department of Education and Training this morning, June 3.

According to Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong, the number of candidates registering for the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi is 10 times higher than in other provinces and cities.

With a large number of candidates registering for the exam, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training reported to the city's exam steering committee to mobilize 15,173 officials and teachers to participate in exam supervision and more than 2,000 people to participate in exam marking. The Hanoi City Police also mobilized thousands of soldiers to support the exam.

The whole city has 201 examination sites with 4,411 examination rooms and 201 backup examination rooms in 30 districts, towns and cities.

At the conference, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training disseminated the exam invigilation work, new points of the exam, and points that need special attention during the exam invigilation process.

The Hanoi 10th grade entrance exam is considered a fierce competition for candidates to compete for a place in public schools. This year, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has assigned 79,740 quotas to 122 public and autonomous public high schools. Of these, 119 public high schools have been assigned 78,400 quotas, equivalent to 1,763 classes; 3 autonomous public high schools have been assigned 1,340 quotas with 32 classes.

The entrance exam for grade 10 in Hanoi will take place on June 7 and 8 for the general education system. Students who register for specialized school exams will take additional specialized subjects on June 9.
