(TN&MT) - On the afternoon of January 9, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai province (TN&MT) held a conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025.
Presenting a report at the conference, Mr. Ha Manh Cuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai province said: In 2024, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has proactively focused on, directed, and implemented synchronously and effectively the tasks and solutions on the basis of closely following the policies and guidelines of the Party at all levels, the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the key tasks of the department in 2024.
In particular, completing ahead of schedule and exceeding a number of assigned targets and tasks for 2024 such as: Target of solid waste collected and treated in urban areas reaching 93.9%/92.3% according to assigned targets; rate of solid waste collected and treated in rural areas reaching 60%/53% of assigned targets; rate of domestic solid waste classified at source reaching 58.8/51% according to assigned targets; completing 3 months ahead of schedule for the task of inspecting, reviewing and evaluating compliance with legal regulations in the field of water resources for hydroelectric reservoirs and irrigation water exploitation channels in the province.
In addition, it has consulted and comprehensively completed a huge amount of work for the year, concretizing the implementation of the 2024 Land Law and the guiding Decrees for implementation with focused direction.
At the Conference, delegates exchanged and discussed difficulties and obstacles in the process of performing tasks; frankly acknowledged shortcomings and limitations; analyzed and evaluated unfulfilled targets and tasks, thereby providing solutions, proposals and recommendations to overcome them in the coming year.
Concluding the Conference, Mr. Tran Ngoc Luan - Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai province said: In 2024, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai province achieved positive results, in which Yen Bai was 1/23 provinces commended at the summary conference of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. The environmental protection assessment index of Yen Bai province ranked 36/63 provinces and cities (up 25 places compared to the previous year). The Department's digital transformation index in 2024 ranked 11/27 departments, branches and sectors of the province.
Along with that, the whole industry has made efforts, proactively, step by step innovated thinking, methods, and approaches to solve problems of people, businesses, and investors; strengthened coordination with departments, branches, and localities, proactively and flexibly advised on solving arising problems (natural disasters, storms and floods); proactively implemented specialized tasks in land, environment, minerals, water resources, hydrometeorology and climate change, surveying and mapping, and remote sensing...
To complete the goals and tasks of 2025, Mr. Tran Ngoc Luan - Director of Yen Bai Department of Natural Resources and Environment clearly identified the motto of the industry: "Any goals and tasks that have not been completed must be completed; any goals and tasks that have been completed must be improved in quality, efficiency, and methodically organized".
General goal of the year: "The organizational apparatus will soon be arranged, consolidated, put into stable, effective and efficient operation; digital transformation and database construction will be promoted, serving well the state management work of the industry; advising so that natural resources are managed, exploited and used effectively and sustainably; advising so that environmental quality is improved, pollution sources are well controlled; creatively and flexibly handling sudden and arising problems".
The Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai province suggested that the whole sector should seriously, urgently, and focus on implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the organization and apparatus in accordance with the orientation, direction and guidance of the Central Government and the province. At the same time, synchronously and drastically implement a number of solutions, continue to implement and improve administrative reform. Especially reforming administrative procedures, shortening the time to handle administrative procedures under the authority of the sector.
In the coming time, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment needs to overcome shortcomings and limitations to improve indicators such as: Administrative reform index; satisfaction index of people and organizations with the services of state administrative agencies; governance and public administration efficiency index; provincial competitiveness index PCI; provincial green index; environmental protection results assessment index (PEPI) ...
On this occasion, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Yen Bai awarded Certificates of Merit to 9 collectives and 47 individuals with outstanding achievements in performing tasks in 2024. At the same time, financial support was provided to 35 union members and workers affected by storm No. 3.
