Department of Construction proposes coordination in responding to heavy rain and ensuring traffic safety

DNO - On October 18, the Department of Construction of Da Nang sent a document requesting relevant units and localities to proactively deploy measures to respond to heavy rain and natural disasters in the coming days.

Accordingly, road and inland waterway management and maintenance units proactively carry out maintenance work, ensuring smooth drainage systems and safety for people and vehicles; concentrate human resources, equipment and materials to be ready to handle incidents, promptly repair weak routes, bridges and road sections and prevent people and vehicles from entering flooded, landslide and dangerous overflow areas.

Construction units and supervisors of repair works on roads and inland waterways regularly monitor and update weather developments and heavy rain in the coming days to promptly respond.

Project Management Board 4 and project management boards under the city require contractors to take preventive measures to ensure safety during storms; check and take responsibility for traffic safety on construction and exploitation projects such as National Highway 40B, National Highway 14E, National Highway 14B, Provincial Road 619, etc. and mobilize vehicles, equipment and human resources to ensure smooth and safe traffic.

People's Committees of communes and wards urgently check and clear the drainage system, especially water intakes and drainage ditches; propagate and mobilize people to proactively clear rainwater intakes on the road surface, remove odor-blocking covers...; arrange forces to block deep flooded areas, coordinate rescue and ensure smooth traffic during heavy rain and floods.

The Drainage and Wastewater Treatment Company was assigned to mobilize all human resources and means to clear the intake gates and water collection ditches, operate the anti-flooding pumping station, and lower the water level at regulating lakes such as 29/3 Park Lake, Thac Gian - Vinh Trung Lake, K5 Lake, etc.

The City Cemetery Board urgently reviewed and assessed the situation and proactively deployed temporary reinforcement solutions in steep areas around cemeteries under its management, ensuring that no landslides or rockslides caused by heavy and prolonged rains occur.

The Urban Infrastructure Management Center regularly closely monitors the water level changes at the Nam My reservoir of the Hoa Lien Water Plant; organizes reservoir safety inspections and operates in accordance with approved procedures, ensuring absolute safety of the project, life and property of people in the reservoir area and downstream of the dam.

The People's Committees of Tay Giang and Hung Son communes, the Traffic Infrastructure Management Department, the Quang Nam Traffic Infrastructure Management Center, and Dong Phong Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company shall direct and organize the implementation of contents related to handling landslides on the roadbed, subsidence of the roadbed with the risk of road breakage at Km23+480 of the DT.606 route; proactively respond to landslides caused by prolonged heavy rain, and avoid being passive or surprised.
